Take Action with Actioneer
Pilot Civic Engagement Program
About
Overview
Welcome to the Take Action with Actioneer Campaign
This campaign aims to mobilize a wide range of participants like you to take action on a challenge you want to make progress on. Maybe it's something that you have already been working or a new challenge that you are facing. Regardless of where you're at in your journey we hope this experience helps you take the next step and feel supported.
Our plan for July 31 is to use the time to spend thinking through your challenge and your plans for how you plan to move ahead. What do you hope to learn? What people might you connect with? Who do you need to join your effort? What does your intervention look like?
After some time in your small groups getting feedback on each other's plans you will upload your "project" into Actioneer. We will host two 30 minute check ins, 30 and 60 days after the program to check in on how things are going and celebrate progress.
Take time to get familiar with Actioneer. You don't need to fill anything out now since we will have time during the program. Actioneer was created as a tool to share plans, encourage action and build momentum. Everyone's project will be visible to the group. The idea is for us to share our plans and build support for each other.
Thank you for taking time to learn with us and each other. We can't wait to get started!

Project Map
AI summary of the biggest barriers to progress
- Collaboration, governance, and coordination: conflicting priorities, limited communication, unresolved conflicts; need for a shared language, clear roles, and mapping to reduce overlap.
- Resource constraints and sustainability: limited funding, staffing, and volunteer capacity; urgency for diversified funding streams, budgeting discipline, and capacity-building.
- Centering affected communities and upstream solutions: voices of people experiencing hunger often unheard; emphasis on root causes (poverty, access, language barriers) and systemic, equity-focused approaches.
- Leadership development and program design capacity: leadership gaps and lack of job descriptions/plans; requires staff development, clear program design, and succession planning.
- Education, youth, and workforce alignment: barriers to YouthBuild success, childcare shortages, educational disparities; need for alignment with local labor market needs and strong school/industry partnerships.
- Systemic barriers, power dynamics, and political engagement: fear of change, power struggles, anti-democratic tendencies, political disengagement; requires trust-building and inclusive governance.
- Evaluation, data, and accountability: need for robust measurement and data-driven iteration; communicate outcomes to funders and stakeholders to sustain momentum.
AI summary of learnings
- Clear, consistent communication to break silos and keep everyone aligned on shared goals and values.
- Trust, empathy, and inclusive decision-making as essential foundations for effective partnerships and accountability.
- Alignment of operations and programs with mission/values, coupled with interdepartmental awareness to optimize outcomes.
- Capacity-building through research-informed design, leadership guidance, and initiatives that boost morale and visibility (e.g., branding, program development).
- System change requires intentional pacing; deliberate steps and early wins help sustain momentum and quality.
- Mobilization of volunteers and resources, plus active community leadership engagement to deliver tangible social impact (fundraising, civic participation, youth programs).
