Argentine Healthy Food Access Initiative

Project focus area

We are seeking funding to explore and expand access to healthy, fresh food in our community—an urgent need in the Argentine neighborhood where access to affordable, nutritious food is limited. As the number of families visiting our Community Market has grown, so has the need for sustainable, nutrient-rich food options that support overall health and wellness.

Plan for action

Our vision is to build a more robust and holistic food access system that goes beyond providing food to equipping neighbors with tools, education, and support by expanding Fresh Produce Access, reviving the Milks to Plate Program, collaborating for Health Education, and utilizing our New Commercial Kitchen.

Demographics

Racial and ethnic groups, Persons with low income

Evidence

We are so proud that we were able to meet and accommodate the increased demand for food during the government shutdown and pause in SNAP benefits. We also were able accommodate the increase in neighbors who returned to our Market after 6 months off at the start of this federal administration.

Progress

  1. Set your project focus and actions, who you’ll engage, and how you’ll measure success—plus a simple timeline. Submit this setup to kick off.
  2. Share what’s done, what you’re learning, and any course corrections. Note any support needs to stay on track.
  3. Summarize outcomes and evidence (reach, partnerships, dollars), key insights and barriers, and recommended next steps. Completing this closes your Actioneer project.
