Little Free Food Pantry

Project focus area

We have already made tremendous progress in encouraging our local community of Dodge City to see the Little Free Food Pantry at the Dodge City Public Library as a true benefit for those needing a little help through the month. we have witnessed an increase in local Facebook groups posting about this resource with people sharing their contributing or commenting on the support it has been providing. Additionally, we have a "Host Organization" sponsoring a month of service in the form of fundraisers and Pantry maintenance, with 10 organizations donating at least a month's service through 2026.

Plan for action

Purchase of emergency food to support the project and get it off the ground is a first step toward getting the word out and building up donations.

Demographics

Rural individuals, Persons with low income

Evidence

While it is difficult to calculate the impact we have had to individuals, the connection to the community seems very strong (not very quantitative and/or qualitative I understand). I can share that I have sent out 44 social media posts on the program since we started this project, and twenty-six other individuals have posted various messages about the project through various Facebook chats.

Progress

  1. Set your project focus and actions, who you’ll engage, and how you’ll measure success—plus a simple timeline. Submit this setup to kick off.
  2. Share what’s done, what you’re learning, and any course corrections. Note any support needs to stay on track.
  3. Summarize outcomes and evidence (reach, partnerships, dollars), key insights and barriers, and recommended next steps. Completing this closes your Actioneer project.
