Evidence

On our first distribution day, we had 120 freezer meals ready and 50 $50 gift cards to give out. We promoted the event heavily on social media and worried the day before that no one might come. Instead, the line started forming at 2 p.m. for our 6 p.m. distribution. It was a rainy day, yet the line stretched out the door and around the corner. That evening, we served over 100 families and took down the names of another 100 for our priority list. The mini action grant allowed us to launch a new ministry in our church to serve the food insecure in our community. With the extra funding, we quickly got the ministry up and running and proved we could deliver. Since then, we’ve received $7,000 in church funding to keep it going. We’re now known in the community as the “Crockpot Church” and have many more partnerships as we carry this Crockpot Freezer Meal Ministry forward.  We are very excited about a new partnership with schools where we can keep their freezer stocked with meals for those who are in need.  In addition, we want to add classes for families and/or teens to teach them how to make these meals in a few simple steps.

Progress

  1. Set your project focus and actions, who you’ll engage, and how you’ll measure success—plus a simple timeline. Submit this setup to kick off.
  2. Share what’s done, what you’re learning, and any course corrections. Note any support needs to stay on track.
  3. Summarize outcomes and evidence (reach, partnerships, dollars), key insights and barriers, and recommended next steps. Completing this closes your Actioneer project.
